Explore Population Insights

Draft — 2026-09-26

Drafted from the screen's code on main (kareIntelligence 7455702). Not yet reviewed against a live session. Roles listed are the defaults the app's role matrix (@collabkare/ability 0.12.0) gives this screen's route; your organization's role overrides can change them.

Population → Population Insights covers risk stratification, demographics, cost concentration and captured-HCC prevalence for the attributed population. Choose the Payment year at the top.

What you see

  • Headline tiles — attributed members, average RAF (current, v1 flat CMS-HCC V24 subset model), members with coding gaps (prior-year HCCs not re-documented this year), and claims paid in the year for the filtered population.
  • Risk stratification — members per RAF band, prior against current year. This is the same distribution Risk Capture draws.
  • Demographics — members by age band and by sex. Sex values are shown exactly as the data carries them.
  • Cost concentration — paid by decile. Decile 1 is the costliest tenth of the population; the line is the running share of total paid.
  • HCC prevalence — the share of attributed members with each captured CMS-HCC in the payment year, after hierarchies. Show the top rows or all of them.

Not in this build

The Not in this build card names two things that are deliberately absent rather than estimated:

  • chronic-condition prevalence beyond the CMS-HCC categories, because the mart has no condition-registry grain
  • social-determinant screening rates, because nothing in the mart records an SDOH screening

Honest states

  • Empty sections say so ("No captured HCCs in the payment year for the filtered population.") rather than showing zeros.
  • For an organization whose pipeline has not yet run at the current mart version, the Demographics card can show everyone as unknown age and sex; the engine's degraded caption beside it explains why.
