Launch add-on apps from the SMART Apps gallery
Open the add-on applications your organization has activated — directly inside KareIntelligence, with the right patient context when an app needs one.
Before you start
- Sign in and select your role and organization first.
- In the left menu, open SMART Apps. The gallery lists only the apps your organization's administrators have activated; if it is empty, no apps have been activated yet.
Steps
- Browse the app cards. Each card shows the app's name, a short description, and how it opens — Opens embedded (inside this window), Opens in new tab, or Opens in sidebar.
- Check whether the app needs a patient. Apps that work on a specific patient are marked as requiring patient context, and their button reads Select Patient First.
- If a patient is required, select the button and pick the patient from the search dialog. The chosen patient then appears in the Patient context bar at the top of the gallery; use Clear to remove it.
- Select Launch on the app card. Embedded apps open in place with a header bar showing the app name; new-tab apps open in a separate browser tab.
- When you are done with an embedded app, select Close in its header bar to return to the gallery.
Tips / Troubleshooting
- Use Refresh at the top right if an app your administrator just activated is not showing yet.
- The patient context you set stays in place for the next launch, so you can open several apps for the same patient without re-selecting.
- If a launch fails with an error message, try again; if it keeps failing, report the app name to your administrator — the app's activation or configuration may need attention.
