Analyze cost of care

Draft — 2026-09-26

Drafted from the screen's code on main (kareIntelligence 7455702). Not yet reviewed against a live session. Roles listed are the defaults the app's role matrix (@collabkare/ability 0.12.0) gives this screen's route; your organization's role overrides can change them. In the sectioned analytics menu, Cost Analytics is listed for Program Administrator only.

Cost → Cost Analytics shows the cost of care from your organization's claims: overall spend, pharmacy and procedures.

Tabs

  • Overview — total PMPM over total member-months (not only attributed months), total paid in the filtered window, inpatient hospital PMPM, and ER treat-and-release PMPM (ED visits without an inpatient conversion). Then the monthly PMPM trend, the cost distribution donut, cost by category and the top high-cost members.
  • Pharmacy — total medication cost, script and patient counts, a medication rollup by NDC, and Top movers: the largest paid changes (last 3 months against the prior 3).
  • Procedures — total CPT cost, order count, unit count, average cost per order, distinct CPT codes, ER encounters, a procedure rollup by CPT code, then spend by place of service, spend by facility and spend by primary diagnosis.

Use Settings & Filters to change the window and population; Apply re-queries the page.

Honest states

  • % Generic scripts shows a dash (never 0%): the mart has no brand/generic indicator.
  • Estimated savings is labelled as a modeled number, not a measurement. The current model claims $0 because no brand-to-generic substitution map exists, and no multiplier is invented.
  • Unit count equals the order count (one CPT line counts as one unit), because the mart has no units column.
  • The Cost distribution donut shows "No data for the current filters." instead of an empty chart when nothing was paid in the window.
  • Payer mix and budget-versus-actual views are not part of this screen.
