Analyze avoidable ED use
Draft — 2026-09-26
Drafted from the screen's code on main (kareIntelligence 7455702). Not yet reviewed against a live session. Roles listed are the defaults the app's role matrix (@collabkare/ability 0.12.0) gives this screen's route; your organization's role overrides can change them.
Utilization → ER Analytics shows emergency department use across the network, classified with the NYU ED algorithm (a v1 deterministic diagnosis-prefix envelope).
Tabs
- Overview — total ED visits, avoidable visits (Non Emergent + PCP Treatable + Emergent Avoidable), the admit rate from the ED and frequent fliers (4+). Monthly ED visits by classification, the visit mix, and a Clinical measures (CR lane) strip of CQL-evaluated ED measures.
- ACO Detail — a placeholder for now: the diagnosis, DRG, age × gender and payer-mix widgets have no backing endpoints yet, and nothing is invented in their place.
- Facility Analysis — facility volume against avoidable rate, with the network average for comparison, and a facility detail table against the filtered network blend.
- Provider Dashboard — PCP panels by ED visit rate per attributed member, PCPs with the highest avoidable volume, and top rendering ED providers.
- Patient Level — the ED-visits-per-member distribution and a member-ID drill of top frequent fliers.
- Cost Analysis — ED spend by classification, average cost per visit, inpatient conversion spend and member spend concentration.
Things to know
- PCP and rendering-provider rows are provider IDs; the mart carries no provider names.
- Member drills are capped at 50 rows and carry member IDs only — no PHI.
- A CQL measure the engine could not evaluate shows as unavailable, never 0.
- Diagnosis, DRG and demographic rollups are not yet available on this screen.
