Start a televisit from your schedule
When a patient books a telehealth appointment, you start the video visit directly from the Schedule page. The televisit opens in the dedicated video-visit workspace with the patient and visit context already loaded.
Before you start
You need video-visit access (prescriber and trainee roles). The appointment must exist on your schedule as a Tele-Visit and be in Confirmed status. Go to Work → Schedule.
Steps
- Open Schedule and go to the Today's Queue tab (or find the appointment in Calendar or Appointments).
- Locate the telehealth appointment — it carries a Tele badge.
- Click Start TeleVisit on the appointment. The televisit workspace opens in a new tab with the waiting room, patient chart context, and video controls.
- For a faster, streamlined session, click the small arrow next to Start TeleVisit and choose Quick visit. This opens a slimmed-down video view without the full workspace around it.
- Conduct the visit in the televisit workspace. When you finish, return to KareMD and mark the appointment Complete from its action buttons.
Tips / Troubleshooting
- If you see a Join Call button instead of Start TeleVisit, your site is using the direct video-room link; clicking it opens the visit's video room in a new tab.
- Pop-up blockers can stop the visit window from opening — allow pop-ups for this site.
- If the appointment shows no televisit action, check that it is a telehealth visit type and confirmed; pending appointments must be confirmed first.
