Review lab and diagnostic results

Review a patient's laboratory results grouped by panel, trend individual values over time, and check radiology and pathology reports — all from the patient chart.

Before you start

All clinical roles can view results (some roles are view-only). Open the patient's chart, then use the chart rail: Clinical → Labs for laboratory results, and Diagnostics → Radiology or Diagnostics → Pathology for imaging and pathology.

Steps

  1. In the chart rail, click Labs. Results are grouped into familiar panels — BMP, LFT, CBC, Lipid, Coag, Cardiac, Diabetes — with anything that doesn't fit under Other.
  2. Use the date-range selector to widen or narrow the window (the default shows the last 90 days).
  3. Scan for flags: high and low values are highlighted (H/L for abnormal, HH/LL for critical), and the header shows how many abnormal results are in the current range.
  4. Click any individual result to open its trend — a graph of that value over time so you can see the direction, not just the latest number.
  5. For imaging, click Radiology in the rail to review studies and reports. For biopsies and specimens, click Pathology.

Tips / Troubleshooting

  • If a result you expect is missing, widen the date range first — the view only shows results inside the selected window.
  • Roles with results-entry permission also see an add-result option on the Labs page for recording point-of-care values; if you don't see it, your role is view-only here.
