Book an appointment

Book a new visit for an existing patient with any provider in your practice. You can book from the Scheduling page or straight from the check-in queue.

Before you start

  • You need a role with appointment access (Front Desk Staff, Patient Access Rep, Practice Manager, Billing Specialist, or Admin).
  • Go to Scheduling → Appointments (or Calendar) in the left menu — both open the Scheduling page. You can also book from Scheduling → Check-in.
  • The patient must already be registered. If they're new, register them first (see "Register a new patient").

Steps

  1. Click New Appointment at the top right of the page.
  2. In the New Appointment dialog, fill in:
    • Patient — pick from your practice's patient list.
    • Provider — pick the provider who will see them.
    • Date, Time, and Duration (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes).
    • Visit TypeIn-person or Tele-visit.
    • Appointment TypeNew or Follow-up.
    • Reason for visit — required (for example, "Chest pain follow-up").
    • Notes — optional.
  3. Click Book Appointment. The dialog closes and the schedule refreshes with the new booking.

Tips / Troubleshooting

  • "Select both a patient and a provider" — both dropdowns are required; the reason field is required too.
  • In-person bookings for today appear immediately in the Check-in queue; tele-visits stay on the Scheduling page.
  • A banner at the top of the Scheduling page highlights bookings made in the last 24 hours — click View all to jump to them.
