Start a video visit from the queue
Use the Provider Queue to see today's scheduled visits, check that the patient is ready, and open the video room.
Before you start
- You need a provider sign-in; the queue only shows visits scheduled under your name.
- The patient must have a visit scheduled for today. Patients who have entered their waiting room show a green live badge on their row.
- The queue is your home screen after sign-in. You can also reach it any time from Queue in the top ribbon.
Steps
- Open the Provider Queue. The stats row at the top shows In Queue, Completed, Avg Wait (min), and Billable Today. Select Refresh if you want to reload the list.
- In the Queue list on the left, select a patient. Each row shows the reason for the visit, wait time, and status.
- Check the patient's readiness. When the patient is in their waiting room, the row shows a live badge and an intake counter (for example, 2/3). Hover over it to see which items are done: Consent, Questionnaire, and Camera + mic test.
- Review the preview pane on the right. It shows the patient's Conditions, Latest A1c, Appointment time, and Status.
- Scan the Pre-Visit Brief below the preview — it lists the patient's top open care-gap alerts so you know what to address during the visit.
- Select Start Visit. The system opens the visit record and takes you straight to the video room.
Tips / Troubleshooting
- If the queue says No practitioner in context, your session started without a provider identity. Re-launch TeleVisit from your EHR or launcher with your provider login.
- No visits scheduled today means today's schedule came back empty for you — confirm the appointment was booked under your name.
- You can start a visit before the patient finishes intake, but waiting for the consent item to be checked avoids having to pause later.
