Read the unit board

The Unit board shows every admitted patient on a unit, live from the bed census, whoever they are assigned to.

Steps​

  1. Open Unit board.
  2. Choose the unit in the unit picker.
  3. Read the header: the number of patients and how many are discharge pending.
  4. Click a patient to open their summary. Click Refresh to reload.

What the board shows​

Each row shows the bed, patient, admitting diagnosis (Dx), attending, nurse, length of stay (LOS) and status. Rows that are discharge-pending are highlighted. The Flags column shows icons for a critical result, new results and open tasks.

Tips / Troubleshooting​

  • The board is read-only. To take beds, use My patients.
  • An empty board means there are no admissions on that unit. Admissions are created at the ADT desk in karePractice.
