Join a video visit
Join your telehealth visit from the myKare Portal. You'll land in a waiting room where you sign your consent, tell us why you're here, and test your camera before the doctor connects.
Before you start
- Sign in to the myKare Portal and use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
- Joining opens 30 minutes before your appointment time.
- Find a quiet, private spot with good internet.
Steps
- In the portal, open Appointments under My Care and select your telehealth visit (look for the Telehealth badge).
- When the join window is open, click Start TeleVisit. A new tab opens with your waiting room — "Your Waiting Room" shows your queue position and estimated wait.
- Work through the Pre-Visit Checklist:
- Consent for telehealth visit — scroll to the end of the consent text, type your full name, tick the confirmation box, and click I agree — sign + start visit prep.
- Tell us why you're here — briefly describe what's bothering you, add anything else the provider should know, and click Save and continue.
- Test your camera and microphone — click the test button and allow access when your browser asks. "Looks good — you're all set" means you're ready.
- While you wait, you can complete an optional 2-minute screening — your answers go straight to your provider.
- When the visit starts, use the controls at the bottom: Mic On/Off, Camera On/Off, Share (your screen), Invite (add an interpreter or family member by link), and End when you're done.
Tips / Troubleshooting
- Camera blocked? Click the camera icon in your browser's address bar, choose Allow, then test again.
- Close other video apps (Zoom, Teams, FaceTime) if your camera says it's in use.
- Too early? The button shows when joining opens. Missed the window? Contact your care team to reschedule.
