Review Today's Outlook

Today's Outlook gives you a same-day view of appointments, chronic-condition patients on the schedule, outreach opportunities, and visits running long — so you can plan the day before it happens.

Before you start

  • Any PopulationHealth role can open this page.
  • In the left menu, go to Home → Today's Outlook.

Steps

  1. Pick a time range at the top of the page: Today, Tomorrow, or 5 Days.
  2. Use the Filter by Provider dropdown to narrow the view to one provider, or leave it on All Providers.
  3. Review the summary cards: Overall Appointments, Cancelled, New Patients, Repeat Patients, and Avg Wait Time.
  4. Work through the four tabs:
    • Today's Appointments — a timeline of the day's schedule. Each appointment is color-coded by status; the legend shows Checked In, In Progress, Scheduled, Completed, and Cancelled.
    • Chronic Conditions — patients on the schedule who carry chronic conditions, so the team can prepare for those visits.
    • Opportunities — care and outreach opportunities tied to today's patients (for example, screenings that could be closed during the visit).
    • Overstay Analysis — visits and wait times that are running longer than expected.
  5. Select an appointment on the timeline to see its details, including the patient and status.

Tips / Troubleshooting

  • An amber Demo data notice at the top of the page means the app is showing sample appointments and patients. The page works the same way once your administrator connects live data.
  • If the timeline looks empty, check that the time range tab and the provider filter aren't hiding the schedule you expect.
