Set up packages

A package bills an admission at one fixed price. Services the package includes are shown at ₹0; anything else is billed as an extra.

Steps​

  1. Open Charge Master → Packages.
  2. Enter a code (for example CABG-STD), a title, the package price and GST rate.
  3. Enter the length of stay in days the package covers.
  4. List the inclusions, one per line:
    • a CPT code with a description: 33533 — CABG, arterial
    • a facility code with a description: ROOM-ICU — ICU stay
    • or plain text for anything without a code: Ward bed, routine drugs and consumables Put a dash, en dash or colon between the code and the description.
  5. Click Save.

How a package bills​

  • Included CPT and facility codes are ₹0 on the bill.
  • A per-day item such as ROOM-ICU is included only up to the package's length of stay; extra days are billed at the facility rate.
  • A stay longer than the length of stay shows a warning on the bill.
  • Packages are assigned to an admission in kareMD (Hospital bills → Assign package). Once the bill is issued, the package can no longer change.
