Billing settings — billing mode, self-approval and time zone

Open Charge Master → Billing settings.

Billing mode​

  • Line item — every approved charge is billed at its fee.
  • Package — an admission with a package is billed the package price; included services are ₹0 and the rest are extras. An admission without a package is still billed line by line, with a warning.

Self-approval (solo practice)​

Normally the provider who rendered a service cannot approve its charge — a second reviewer must. A solo practice has no second reviewer, so turn on Self-approval (solo practice). Each self-approved charge is marked on the charge and recorded in the audit trail.

Leave this off for group practices and hospitals.

Facility time zone​

Choose the time zone your facility runs on (default Asia/Kolkata). CollabKare uses it to:

  • count room days at local midnight, so a patient in a bed at midnight is charged for that day; and
  • set the service date on claims to the local date, so a service at 1 am is not dated the previous day.

Set this before you issue bills. Changing it affects bills recalculated afterwards, not bills already issued.
